Hey Valley Peeps, are you feeling not just blue, but positively gray? Me, too! Let’s resist. Let’s get through this long winter of the soul together–with poetry!
Leslie Marie Aguilar & Sarah Sousa
Sunday, 2/23, 4-5:30
Ashfield Lakehouse, Ashfield, MA
Leslie Marie Aguilar received her MFA from Indiana University and currently works as the Editorial Assistant for Meridians: feminism, race, transnationalism, at Smith College. Her work has been supported by the National Society of Arts and Letters and the Fine Arts Work Center, among others.
Sarah Sousa is the author of three full-length poetry collections, most recently See the Wolf which was named a 2019 Must Read Book by the Massachusetts Center for the Book, as well as the chapbooks Yell and Hex. Her honors include a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship and a Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship.
The series, named after the Robert Hayden poem, will take place the last Sunday of the month in February, March, & April. Other readers include Kristin Bock, Janaka Stucky, Nathan McClain, Rage Hezekiah and (possibly) surprise special guests.
So come, feast on words, and then stay for a drink and/or culinary delights by the fabulous Dre. I promise it’ll blow your winter blues away. (For a little while, at least.)
