Those Winter Sundays, named after the Robert Hayden poem, takes place the last Sunday of the month at the Ashfield Lakehouse during the months of February, March, & April, from 4-5:30pm.

Next up is a pair of readers you don’t want to miss: local fave Kristin Bock & special out-of-towner poet and performance artist, Janaka Stucky!

Kristin Bock holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she teaches in the Business Communication Program. Her first collection, CLOISTERS, won Tupelo Press’s First Book Award and the da Vinci Eye Award. Her poems have appeared in many journals, including The Black Warrior Review, Columbia, Crazyhorse, FENCE, Pleiades, Prairie Schooner, and VERSE. Her second book of poetry, DEAR LIFE FORM, is forthcoming from Tupelo Press.

Janaka StuckyJanaka Stucky is a mystic poet, performer, and founding editor of the award-winning press Black Ocean. He is a two-time National Haiku Champion, and is the author of four poetry collections—including his most recent work, “Ascend Ascend” which was published in 2019 by Jack White’s Third Man Books in the U.S., and as a limited, illustrated edition by Fulgur Press in the UK. He incorporates esoteric & occult influences into the creative process to develop a practice of trance poetics, which he has taught or performed in over 60 cities around the world.
