Pessoa anthology reading tonight!

If you’re in WMA and want to hear some poetry, tonight we’re celebrating an anthology of poems that has been a long labor of love for Charles Cutler, Smith College professor emeritus.

The anthology, “In the Footsteps of a Shadow: North American Literary Responses to Fernando Pessoa” (MadHat Press, 386 pages, $23.95) will be launched today (Saturday, Feb. 1) at 6 p.m. at Raven Used Books on Conway Street in Shelburne Falls.

The book includes 200 works by American poets and writers who have been inspired by Fernando Pessoa, including yours truly as well as Ellen Dore Watson, Dan Hales and a few other locals. If you don’t know Pessoa’s work, come anyway, it will be fun and we’ll have refreshments, and Raven is a great space. But stay home if you’re sick, OK? (No offense.)

Here’s a link to an article in the Gazette about the book and the opening.
